May Image Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to May!

The April Black and White challenge proved to be VERY popular!
A big THANK YOU to each and every one of you who played along.
We loved how there were so many creative interpretations..

winners will be revealed soon.

The challenge we have for you THIS  month is totally different again and one that
has proven to be quite a challenge for the K+ DT (myself included!)
After the Black and White challenge

we have a challenge that is full of chaos, colour and fun for you.
The Challenge is to be inspired by anything you see in the photo.

*Please note that this is NOT a colour challenge and  make sure to tell  us what inspired you in the image :)

Criteria: Kraft + Image inspiration + Your creativity and imagination!

We welcome all kinds of craft as entries for our challenges, from traditional layouts, cards, digital layouts, art journalling and tags etc. but please remember that it is all about the Kraft!!

Your work MUST be on a KRAFT BACKGROUND (not merely mounted on Kraft) to be eligible.

**Please take the time to read the RULES before submitting your entry**
and upload your entry via the inlinkz section in our side bar.

When uploading your entries please let us know which part of the world you come from, this makes it much easier for the DT when it comes to voting.

WOW!
The Kraft Plus Design Team have blown this challenge right out of the water.
So many different interpretations.
And yes, a few of them found this challenge.. well.. challenging!
And others found it easy.
But I think the common thing was to pick out a few elements,
or go with the "feel" of the image and just have fun with it!

Are YOU up for the challenge?

"I took inspiration from the old car in the inspiration image
as I found a similar picture in my collection.
I then just found elements that I liked and re-created and had fun."

"I based my page around the general design and layout of the inspiration image, including the retro and whimsical elements.."

"I really wanted to incorporate the movement and the colours from the moodboard...
so went to town.
The photo reflects the same theme!"

"I have taken inspiration from the retro feel, composition and design elements. The car element also inspired the 'ride' element of my page."

"I found it quite hard to get started with this layout ..
I had so many ideas messing with my head, but once I focussed on the individual elements it all came together.
I was inspired by the circles and rainbow elements and the overall "fun" feel of the photo."

Elisa Ablett

"I was inspired by a few elements of the graphic including the old tv, the rainbow circles and the old 50's show vibe. I made my own chipboard embellishment using a chipboard sheet and a free clipart on google and fussy cut it out. My youngest son is a 'show man' with a great sense of humour so i wanted to make him to be the star of his own show."

"I have to admit the inspiration layout was a little too chaotic for me even though it was completely fabulous. Once I sat down and looked at the elements though, I first noticed the grey lines in the background and the cream paint. This gave me an idea to grab a sunburst stencil and draw lines on my background and add some texture past with sand added as well as some cream paint.. Then I was inspired by the sun rays to create a summer beach themed layout. I already had a summer paper range in my stash so it was easy to then co-ordinate all of the elements required."

"This challenge was definitely out of my comfort zone but every time I looked at the image, the round elements stood out to me so I knew I wanted to incorporate something similar on my page and once I found the perfect patterned paper in my stash (from an old Pink Paislee range) everything seemed to fall into place. I tried to use similar colours from the inspiration pic as well as some inked detail in the background and the car in the image inspired me to document the proud moment my eldest son bought his first car"

"I was inspired by the colours, the circle elements & the general design of this image
...oh & and; that car!"

"Whoa! This challenge broke all my rules!
It was impossible to keep any 'white space' and there was no room for little clusters.
I just dragged out everything that looked remotely as though it fitted my theme and added it.
Talk about a lot of fun. Its bright and chaotic just like the inspiration"

"This image challenge was waaaay 2 chaotic for me
so I toned it down but I still did way more titles and journaling
than I would normally do on a layout LOL"

"I was inspired by the circles, dots and splashes"

"Once I picked out a couple of elements then the challenge wasn't as scary as it looked.
I was inspired by the little dots but definitely found the mojo when I spied a stitched circle."

"Oh boy did this one give me palpitations!!
I think the thing that did my head in was the flow of the image. So I let everything go and just trusted the image. I broke everything down into bits. The colours, the splodgy paint look, circles, and movement."

 Brilliant work again ladies!
Each and every month these girls amaze me with their creativity.
So grateful for each and every one of them.

"What I pulled from the mood board were the textures (the flourishes, dots, and the lines from the megaphone) which I based my background on... and over all the image felt retro to me. I then used a rockabilly pick of my friends and drew from the red on the image and their outfits"

I'm confused how this works. I used Photobucket for my image upload but on you link system It would not allow the upload. I realized after I put my image and country I could not then go back.... do I need to create a link account? I would not have a blog to link it to.
Thank you for all your help and I realize at this point I guess I won't have time to enter May's challenge.

    1. oh dear.. I am sorry to hear that Sokee.
We have had entries via photobucket before, so I'm not sure what happened there :(
Although your entry might be a bit late to count as an entry we would still love to see it.
Maybe you could share it with us on the KraftPlus challenges Facebook group??
