Hello Krafters!
And Hello February!
"I love books. I love that moment when you open one and sink into it you can escape from the world, into a story that's way more interesting than yours will ever be."
- Elizabeth Scott
I hope you can sink into this month’s gorgeous challenge...seriously, where would
we be, without a GOOD READ!
I personally have Book Club tonight ;)
I personally have Book Club tonight ;)
If you are a reader, there is nothing like getting lost in a book. This month we want you to scrap about books and all things reading. Maybe you can be inspired to scrap about a favourite book of yours or the kids, perhaps you can simply use book pages to decorate, or maybe you can journal about your relationship with reading. Go on...tell us your story!
We welcome all
kinds of Kraft entries for our challenges, from a traditional layout, cards,
digital layouts, art journal and tags etc., just please remember that it is all
about the Kraft!!!
You can share your
K+ creations with us either in our
OR via the inlinkz
tool in the sidebar
The Kraft Plus Design Team...
I have randomly torn and layered book page pieces for the background on my card and added a personal touch by drawing and colouring the flowers.
My
Feb page... book paper, letter stencil and text stamping and a photo of
book week! I had so many ideas for this challenge.. but just ran out of
time....
I
was inspired by the vintage feel to the image, and found this postcard
image to use for my layout. I used old book pages, and handmade paper
using old book pages. I also added a Charms Creations bookpage map
marker.
This
is wasn't what I had planned for this challenge, but it was one of
those 'happy' creations. It actually started as a 'warm up' page before
creating the layout I had planned, clearly I had this challenge in mind
as I played. This was done on my final kraft page in my Dina Wakley
journal...time for a new journal
I
love books! And was blessed to visit the USA home of Louisa M Alcott,
author of “Little Women” in 2018. Because of all the photos, I’ve
created a Project Life style page as my layout. Have you ever done this?
Why not give it a try this month!
I did the first page in my new Kraft Journal 😍
I introduced my kids to the wonderful world of books and libraries from the moment they were born and I just love their appreciation for books and reading. Here is my boy, when he was a little tacker, all set up in the toy room, with his sippy cup and a big tub of books nearby 😍 I've used old book pages as a background.

Hi.Here
is my layout for the February Book Inspiration challenge.. I have used
old book paper on the back ground as well as die cut elements and I
just had to pop a Charms Creations book paper heart on my page too..
TFL!
‘Elmer’s
Day’-i was inspired by the colours and tiled design of Elmer the
elephant’s skin.Do miss reading these books to Samuel.For us,now a
memory
I have used book paper in my layers on my background and also for the word "Potterheads" in my title. The stars were cut from left over's from cutting my title. AND I'm documenting one of my family's favourite books/series.
My inspiration came from these Halloween photos of my daughter and her friend, and I thought it was a slightly different twist on the challenge. I used some text washi tape on card to hand cut my title and also some other text patterned paper tucked in among the layers also for some extra "book feel".
Such gorgeous creations from the Design Team ladies, I always enjoy putting the blog together.
The Kraft Plus Guest Designers
Again, we are lucky enough to have two Guest Designers to inspire you this month, starting with...
Hello, my name is Theresa Kamp and I am an addicted paper crafter who likes to scrapbook, make cards and dabble in the mixed media messy stuff as well.
I am married to my sweetheart with 3 grown children and 2 beautiful grand daughters.
I have been creating with paper for over 25 years. My passion started with paper when my children were younger and as they grew older so did my paper obsession as well as the size of my crafting stash, eventually taking over their playroom as my personal crafting space.
I do not create with any particular style or technique, I like to be prompted by the mediums I have to work with as well as my work environment, my mood and of course the music I am listening to.
Happy Creating !
You'll find Theresa and her blog...HERE.
And International Guest Designer...
Lisa Marie Watling
When it comes to challenges, I sometimes like to think outside of the box and not go with the seemingly obvious. For this challenge, I used book print or script background papers and I chose a title that hinted at books. This title, I feel, speaks volumes!!
You'll find Lisa Marie on Facebook, at Scrap Paper Scissors and her blog, HERE.
Thank you so much ladies for joining us this month, it's been a pleasure to have you join us!
That's it for February, we do hope you have fun with this GOOD READS challenge...looking forward to seeing them all!
Thank you to all who joined in last month's INDIGENOUS ART challenge, we loved all the different interpretations :-)
